“Who Is Your Lord?” Lapbook

1 Recently, my two young girls completed their “Who Created You?” Lapbooks designed by Umm Khadeejah of Diary of a Muslim Homeschool. She designed the lapbook with inspiration from the book “The Beneficial Elementary Principals of Tawheed, Fiqh and ‘Aqeedah” by Shaykh Yaahya Ibn ‘Ali al-Hajooree and I couldn’t agree more that this book is one of the most beneficial books. The shaykh wrote this book for his children and its simple question and answer style is most easy for even young children to understand. I recommend every Muslim with children to buy this book. You can purchase it from Sunnah Bookstore. book Her fantastic lapbook inspired me to carry on, while using the book as a guide, to produce a second lapbook called “Who Is Your Lord?” You can download the templates for this lapbook HERE. This is what the lapbook looks like when opened out. 2 Inside this first flap is the main question and answer using ayat from the Qur’aan as stated in the Shaykh’s book. 3 This accordion book aims to teach the meaning of Allah Name: Ar-Rabb. He is the Lord and Nurturer, the One Who takes care of the Needs of His Creation. Amina drew some fruit trees to show that Allah provides food for His creatures. 4 In this flap Basma practised her Arabic handwriting, writing Ar-Rabb. 5 I created a quartered flapbook, and on each flap is one of Allah’s Names: Ar-Razzaq, Al-Qayoom, Al-Waahaab, Al-Muhaymin. I chose these Names since they are linked to and reflect His Lordship. 6 I asked Amina to think about as many things as she could that Allah gives us and then under the flaps, she drew some of them. 7 And finally, inside this stacked book is an a reference to Sujood-ush-Shukr ~ a way in which we can thank Allah for His blessings. 89 10

Insha’Allah I will be making some more lapbooks based on this book soon.

  1. Wonderful Mashallah! My daughter is 4 but bot writing yet….any ideas to simplify?

  2. You could perhaps get her to draw things in place of writing, or use the tracer pages and explain it to her so that she can read/re-write when she’s able to insha’Allah.

  3. Assalamualaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
    Dear Sister,
I am a mother of two boys. The older one will be 4 this year inshallah. I would like to start some formal islamic education with him but I have no idea where to start.
Can you give me any ideas? Or books that might be helpful?
