Ramadhan Diorama

My daughter Samira (8) decided she wanted to make a diorama for her Ramadhan art & craft so it was fortunate I had an empty shoe box to hand.

First of all she painted the inside of the box a dark blue to represent the night sky.

She used some empty tissue rolls to make the minaret. She wanted to paint it gold but had to settle for orange.

I helped her with the craft knife to cut out the windows on the top of the minaret.

While the painted parts were drying she drew a city scape silhouette onto black paper and cut it out.

Then she drew on windows to show the tower blocks.

When the box had dried she glued in the city scape in the background.

Then she added a large crescent moon that she cut from glitter card and added stars using glitter glue.

Next she cut slits into the bottom of the minaret to make it easy to stick down. The tubes were then sellotaped together and finally taped into the bottom of the box.
